There’s a ton of information out there, when it comes to how a Boot or Shoe should fit.
In our experience, the easiest way to check the size is to remove the insole and place your foot on top of it.
If there is a finger/thumb width between your big toe and the end of the insole you should be fine. If the big toe is hanging over the insole the Boot will be too tight.
Assuming that your foot looks ok on the insole, place it back into the footwear and proceed to try the footwear on. Lace up and walk around the house.
Pay close attention to where the boot flexes on the ball of your feet. Ask yourself if they feel too tight or too spacious. Keep in mind that the leather will slowly shape to your feet. This takes a little time.
If you think the footwear is a little loose but almost there, try a different insole to reduce the volume of the footwear. Keep in mind that Rogue boots are made on an EE last, so they are roomy. They are however standard lengths.
Have a good think about what socks you plan to wear with your footwear. Good quality socks are essential on long walks.
Long hikes can lead to swollen toes, and we lose a lot of sweat when we walk. Outside temperatures can exacerbate this.
Some people will go up a size to mitigate these effects. But please keep in mind that you still might need to reduce the volume with a different insole and/or thick socks.
Leather is a natural product. It contains oils that, if exposed to continuous wet and dry conditions will leach and cause the leather to die and crack. Please re-oil or treat with Rogue Leather Food or leather wax. Allow to dry naturally, not near a fire or heater.
Suede leather can be brushed or sanded lightly with a fine sandpaper. Suede leather Vellies may occasionally be washed and left to dry naturally.
